Not necessarily! Guitars, accessories and pedals only enhance your playing. Yes you can buy a new guitar and it can free up your playing, make those the buzzy notes sound a little clearer and you can start to move up and down the fretboard with a little more ease. But those wins and feelings only come after you’ve done the groundwork of building up your muscle memory with focused practise and playing. Without muscle memory, no guitar or gear you purchase will improve your playing. It will just simply enhance it!
YouTube is amazing but it’s incredibly saturated, noisy and distracting. Some use it daily but I’ve found a lot of my students get distracted by adverts and other videos, which take them down unrelated rabbit holes.
Apps are fantastic if you use them as tools. Some even offer lessons and more. But again, what is the point of these lessons if you don’t have your sound, purpose and identity figured out with your playing. Use YouTube and apps to top up your knowledge, not as your sole resource!
Not true! Beginner, intermediate and advanced guitarists can benefit from guitar composing and arranging. It’s best to start as early as you can as building a piece will keep your motivation and momentum sky high. Every guitarist has to start small with building a piece. Once you’ve built one you have the choice to upgrade that piece or build another. The options are endless once you play the guitar piece building game.
A unique guitar program to help you train your skills, build a timeless piece and launch it in 90 days
